Bare Minerals Eye Makeup

When you think eye make up, don't think of Bare Minerals straight away. I didn't even know they did eye makeup! I went to the Bare Minerals counter again this week for a master class on eye makeup. The lady was amazing and even got me to try something completely out of my comfort zone but I really liked it.

I've never used purple on my eyes ever! I assumed with having blue eyes, it just wouldn't work for me but after dying my hair a more ashy/cool tones blonde, I thought maybe it would go better than the warm colours I'm used to.

Colours used:
Bronzer in the crease
Eyeshadow quad in The Dream Sequence £29.00
Blackout

She also did a higher wing than I usually do, I think it suits me. What do you think?

Oh and I also got to play with the new Bare Minerals highlight and setting powder duo one day before the official launch so that was exciting! It reminded me of the hourglass palette. It was so fine and gave a lovely glow! I'm all about that glowy highlight!!

Product: Invisible Light Translucent Powder Duo

The eyeshadow quads are good because they have an eye look ready for you. It's just what colours go where. My mam wasn't sure so the lady went through not only what colours/shades go where but also the technique how to apply them and the recommending the best brush for the job. My mam has warm red hair so the quad The Truth was the one that suited her the best.

So overall we were so happy with the experience of getting pampered and shown some new tricks and products. What are your thoughts of Bare Minerals? Have you ever tried them?

Thanks for reading. CS x

Bare Minerals Makeup - First Impressions and Mini Review

So today I visited the BareMinerals counter today at my local Debenhams for a makeup class. I've never been to BareMinerals before so I was intrigued to see what they had.

The reason I've always stayed clear of BareMinerals is because I thought it wouldn't be any good for my skin. I have very dry skin so the thought of a powdery foundation just wasn't appealing to me.

The lady at the counter was so lovely. She sat me and my mum down and talked to us about what type of skin we have, what are skincare routine is and what products we use. She showed us the products best suited to our skin and the look and feel we wanted from our skincare.

For me she suggested:
Cleanser - Clay Chameleon £18
Treatment - Skin Longerity £45
Moisturiser - Bare Haven £30

I was really impressed with all the skincare products. They revived my dull dry skin and actually gave me a lovely healthy glow! (Which if you have dry skin like me, its something that's pretty hard to get!!)

With the base done, we moved onto the makeup. I was pleasantly surprised by most of the makeup products which I will explain fully the product breakdown.

For me she suggested:

Primer - Neutralising £22
As well as my skin being very dull and dry, I also suffer from redness and dark circles so we tried the neutralising primer, as it is tinted the tiny bit of colour did an alright job of evening out my skin tone and also had calming ingredient so try and keep redness at bay. I seemed to do what it claimed but nothing to rave about. Also not worth the price tag in my opinion.

Foundation - Complexion Rescue £26
As a powder foundation is a big no no for my skin, the lady suggested the liquid foundation. I didn't even know BareMinerals had a liquid foundation! So I was eager to see what it could do. I like full coverage to cover my redness, dark circles and dryness. The foundation was a good colour match and seemed to cover well but definitely not full coverage. Ny redness was still showing through the foundation and primer! The lady kept working on the coverage, building it up but it started looking cakey in my dry patches so i didn't want anymore applied. I was hoping concealer would finish the job in the areas where I still needed coverage.

Concealer - Bare Skin (Light) £22
The lady swore by the concealer and said it would cover my dark circles and redness and it did do a good job with my dark circles but still didn't cover my redness.

Bronzer - High Dive £24
I have a love hate relationship with bronzers. I've never found one that's the right colour match for me. Its either too orange or too cool toned brown and ends up looking like a strip on my face. So anyways, shifting away from my point, I really liked this bronzer. It looked so natural on my skin, it just blended so seamlessly I looked naturally sunkissed. So that got a big thumbs up from me.

Blush - Indecent proposal £22
Firstly, love the name! This colour is a mauve pink. I usually for go for coral shades but now my hair is a cool tone blonde I've shifted to a cool tones blush and I really liked it. It looked natural and I think that's all you can ask for from a blush.

Eye Primer - Sweetspice £17
As we were just focusing on the face makeup today, the assistant any put a primer on my eyes to cancel out any veins but I can't say how it held up as nothing was applied over the top.

Brows - Light Brown Gel
I wasn't really impressed with the brow gel. As you can see on this photograph, my brows were all over the place within an hour of the application. So definitely wouldn't recommend this.

Lip Liner - Mulled £13
Nice colour but not the best liner I've used. Not very pigmented.

Lipstick - Speak Your Mind £17
Firstly, I like the name. I also liked the lipstick although it has a sheen to it but as BareMinerals don't do a matte lipstick I thought I'd have this a try. It was very creamy and didn't have that weird lipstick taste that most have so although I wasn't thrilled with the sheen, it was definitely wearable.

Here is the overall finished look.

My skin is glowing and no dry patches! (Yes!!) The cakey look faded very quickly as I'm guessing my dry skin soaked in any excess product. Although BareMinerals is expensive I definitely think the skincare and base products are worth it for a healthy, natural look.

I hope this review/first impressions has been helpful but if you want to try any of the products out in store definitely book in to see one of the assistants who will match you up correctly.

Happy 1st Birthday Olivia

So it was my daughters 1st birthday yesterday. She had the perfect day! Smiles and laughs all day, great sunny warm weather, family and friends. Oh, and lots and lots of toys and clothes for the birthday girl!

Olivia, I wanted to write you a letter for your birthday, but as it is 2016 and pen and paper is definitely classed as old school now, I've took to the Internet! Where it shall remain forever (I hope!) like my love for you.

To my sweetheart Olivia,

Happy 1st Birthday! I knew this day was coming, I knew the past year would fly by, but I had no idea how fast. I promised myself I wouldn't be sad that you were growing up, but instead I feel blessed and forever grateful that you are healthy, thriving, changing, and learning.

This year has been the quickest of my life. I remember everything like it was yesterday. Giving birth, staying in hospital struggling to get you to feed, how exhausted but excited I was for our first car journey as a little family taking you home and showing you off to all my family and friends. I actually couldn't believe I'd made and brought something so beautiful and perfect into this world!!

I didn't think it was possible, but I am more thankful for you today than I was on the day you were born. You have changed my life more than I ever thought possible. You have taught me more than anyone else ever has. You have introduced me to an entirely fresh concept of love. You make me laugh and smile uncontrollably every day. You inspire me to be the best version of myself, to love deeper, to take more chances and be confident.

You are my daughter, my priority, my love and my best friend. Always and forever. Xxxx

The Start Of My Healthy Journey

So here it is. I've posted this on the Internet for the world to see so there's no going back! I'm making a commitment to myself that from 1st June 2016 I will change my lifestyle! I want to loose the baby baby, get lean and strong whilst eating healthier. Oh and a smaller waist with a big booty, is that too much to ask?? ;)

So here's a bit of back story. On the 5th it will be exactly 1 year since I gave birth to my daughter and 2 years until I marry the love of my life. So now is the time to ditch the post baby weight, the excuses and the damn right laziness! No more forgetting to make meals then binging on crappy sugary fast foods in order to survive. It's just not healthy.

I will be monitoring my progress via photographs of myself on the 1st of every month. I won't be weighing myself as I plan on building muscle which may result in weight gain. I also won't be calorie counting as such either but will be monitoring what I'm eating and try to make the healthiest choices.

So here it is, my 1 year post baby body! To some I may look fine but 'fine' isn't good enough. I don't want to wake up and look at myself everyday and just be 'fine'. I want to feel strong, confident, slim and healthy! I also want to do this for my daughter. I want her to be happy and healthy and I'm responsible for that.

I will be blogging about my journey including what I eat, what exercises I do and what I wear when I'm doing them! Instagram is great way to keep up to date so go ahead and follow me @cinderelliesays - I will follow back!! I also have Twitter with the same name @cinderelliesays although I'm not a very active poster I am going to work on that! So be sure to tweet me for motivation!

I'd also love to hear about your journey so comment your blog/Instagram address below and I will definitely follow you and check your posts put :)

Thank you for reading :)) CS xx

Days out to the park

Happy Bank Holiday Weekend! So if you're in the UK you will know that the weather has been so off lately! It's sunny one minute and hailstone/snow the next! So whilst the weather is crap I thought I'd post some photos of our day out around Easter bank holiday time - when the weather was actually pretty decent! Also to remind you that if you're feeling bored, lonely, anxious or stressed, how about visiting your local park(s)?

We are extremely lucky to live literally around the corner from a huge park with so much to do and see for all ages. I took a few shots and thought I'd share. Hopefully this gives you some inspiration to visit your local park, because trust me you will feel better for it.

I didn't take any photographs of the children's park or the skate park for obvious reasons but I tried to get a glimpse of the sports courts and outside gym.

I hope this has inspired you to atleast think of your local parks and give them a visit next time you're free (weather permitting). It's also a great place for mummy friends to meet up and grab a coffee at the park cafe whilst watching the kids play.

First of all, Happy Monday everyone! I'm sorry I haven't been active in a while. My life was pretty busy last year but this year I'm going to make a real effort to post at least once a week.

What better way to kick off the new year than the Golden Globe awards. I've hand picked 5 that stood out for me and also 5 outfits that didn't impress me this year.

Brie Larson also went for gold with this Calvin Klein dress.
